They open at 10 o’clock, so be there on time so that you don’t miss anything. The Wild West awaits you less than forty kilometres from Brno, in an old sandstone quarry. A train goes to Boskovice every hour on the weekend. From the train station, it takes an hour to get to the Wild West Town on foot, or you can go by public transport to the stop called Hřbitov (Cemetery). Visitors will find myriad activities, programs and experiences with cowboys and Indians, riders on horseback and a stunt show. A special law enforcement unit, the Marshal’s Men, has been set up in the town to oversee everything. Pessimists and troublemakers are put in prison!
Have you absorbed the Wild West? Come and put some southern flowers in your lapel. After a pleasant 40-minute walk, you will get to Šmelcovna. You can reach this nine-hectare arboretum by following the Doubravský Okruh (Doubrava Circuit) nature trail and going around the Boskovice Lake. This educational nature area is divided into plots with original vegetation and spaces with thousands of species of decorative flowers. Kids can discover fairy-tale creatures and pet animals in a zoo corner. You can find some refreshments in the Dva Dvory part and the promised flower can be bought at the large garden retail centre.
