Once a Gothic castle, later a chateau where Napoleon Bonaparte allegedly slept, and a museum today, where for example fancy folk pottery called faience is on display.
The chateau in Vyškov is the oldest building in the town, but you cannot find the White Lady here any more. The chateau today hosts a museum with various collections, for example about prehistory. The local display of folk pottery from the Vyškov region is probably the best of the collections of painted faience in Moravia (you can look forward to stags, hares etc.).
Even if you are full of impressions, something small would definitely fit in your stomach, though. You can make a picnic in the chateau garden and you can approach the Zoo Park Vyškov across the chateau’s park. This zoo may not be of huge size, but you and your children will like its unusual concept. The zoo specializes in breeding original kinds of domestic animals typical both of the Czech Republic and elsewhere. You can hardly see so many different kinds of hens anywhere else.
